Biggest Video Poker Jackpots
Las Vegas has always been home to big risks and wins. From sports betting, to table games, to poker, the city has it all. However, many gamblers love playing the slots and the city also offers some of the largest slot jackpots in the world, as evidenced by some of the big recent wins hit in the city.
This week one slots player smashed a $1.7 million jackpot at the Wynn Las Vegas. The total payout of $1,734,677.19 was an amazing return on a $10 bet.
While that amount is staggering, in January an absolutely massive $5.4 million slot machine jackpot was paid out on a $5 Wheel of Fortune machine.
Other recent big slot wins in Las Vegas include an incredible $2.2 million won by a gambler at Mirage Hotel and Casino playing the Wheel of Fortune Triple Red Hot Bells game. This massive slot jackpot in Las Vegas was won on just a $5 wager.
WSOP Champ Huck Seed Wins Over $670k. Huck Seed is a poker player who’s best. He also won the NBC National Heads Up Poker Championship in 2009 for $500,000. His video poker jackpot trumps both of those scores. Only his Main Event title paid more than what he made at Aria.
Another gambler, trying their luck at a $1 Wheel of Fortune machine at the Venetian Hotel & Casino, won $1,883,896.27 in May of 2019.
One gambler saw their holiday season a bit more happy when, on Thanksgiving night 2019, they won $1,056,821.80 on the $1 Wheel of Fortune Triple Gold Gold Spin Megatower at the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino. Not a bad return for a $10 spin!
The recent good fortune was not just limited to slot machines on the Las Vegas strip. Other big payouts have hit in Reno and Laughlin. A massive $1,736,673.07 prize was won by a California resident in Laughlin.
You don’t have to be physically located in Nevada or Las Vegas to try your own luck with slots. You can practice and try casino online to practice and access information on legal land-based and online casinos across the United States.
A huge video poker jackpot was hit by a local resident on the same day that the NFL approved the Raider’s move to Las Vegas. Interestingly the big win happened on a game that is largely considered a novelty in casinos.
Word of the big video poker jackpot came via a tweet from The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas. They tweeted an image of the $400,000 jackpot handpay screen (left). The lucky player’s game was 100-hand triple double bonus video poker.
In 100-hand video poker, cards are first dealt to one hand. The player then holds the cards of their choosing. The same cards are also held on the other 99 hands before they receive the deal. In this case the first hand happened to be four aces plus a deuce kicker. So all 100 hands were big winners at the same time.

The player was betting five dollars per hand. That’s a $500 bet on every deal. And when it hit, he won on all 100 hands. That’s $4,000 per hand – $400.000! A great day at the office as we say around here.

Now I have to tell you that it’s a lot of fun playing the 100-play video poker machines. I don’t recommend playing them in the casino beyond the penny denomination but I love to play the free game that’s available here: Free Video Poker and Keno. If you haven’t tried it, you really should. It’s fun just to see all 100 hands on the screen at the same time and then to watch as each one is dealt to. Even though it’s free and you’re not playing with real money it is very exciting. Plus, all the other video poker games are available too. And yes, it is free. Try it.
